I was reading about this earlier today. I love the wording of the New Hampshire bill. They almost seem to take a secessionist's attitude with it. I hope the respective state's Senators have the courage to stand up for state's rights, and I hope the citizens of the sovereign republics of New Hampshire and Montana have the cajones to back up their state's legislatures by taking up arms, if necessary. Liberty must never be defeated without a fight. The general government needs to realize that it was the several sovereign states that created it, as a means of establishing a confederacy with one another, the common goal of said confederacy being to promote liberty among the several states, and a united front for the international scene. The establishment of the general government was never in any way an indication that the several states wished to surrender to the general government any sovereignty over the territory within their borders.

I'm going to write my state representatives and senators and ask them to draft similar legislation, though in the Soviet Socialist Republic of Maine, I doubt it stands a snowball's chance in that really hot place of succeeding. A decade ago, it might have, as Maine used to be just as libertarian leaning as New Hampshire. But whereas New Hampshire has increased their levels of liberty, Maine has done the opposite, and become a nanny state. Nonetheless, they shall know that there is at least one of their constituents who still values liberty above all else.

Agreed. The states need to stand up to the federal government in defense of liberty. I'm going to bring a copy to some of my state reps and senators (along with a bunch of other stuff; they hate seeing or hearing from me lol). Probably has a snowball's chance in h*ll of passing in Vermont though. I'd like to see Alaska take a similar stand...I hope it never comes to needing to take up arms, even if a state secedes, but I pray that if it is necessary there are states that will back the people.

I guess you can't be surprised about New Hampshire, the state that puts "Live Free or Die" on their license plates!

Just when I was starting to give up hope and slip into despair I read something like this. It's nice to know there are at least a few sensible people left in the country. I would love to see more stuff like this come out of NH, WY, MT, ID and AK...and pass. Sadly, I can't see any other states doing it.

Remember when the "South" stood up for states rights? Some still declare them racists and traitors?
