I drive a 1995 Ford Escort and get 26-30 mpg. It wasn't made in the US.

My favorite is that US flags are imported from China.

We don't make much any more - that's why.. sad but true...

It is darn hard to buy an American Made car - some of the foreign brands have more US Content than GM and Ford...

No one lifted a finger when the great majority of manufacturing jobs went overseas, now service and professional jobs are disappearing at warp speed.

We don't make crap any more - other than for military use that is.

My primary car ('95 Lincoln Town Car) never has trouble starting and gets as much as 24.3 mpg. This in an 18.25 foot long car with a V-8 and weighing 4,200 lbs.

How about this: YOU stop buying the VERY SAME CHINESE MADE PRODUCTS at all other stores, as is sold at WalMart? Deal?

I drive a Nissan 350 Z that was manufactured here in America
And the profits go to a foreign company.

Good going

It's a Global economy, where the rich/wealthy got together to "utilize" the most affordable work-force out there...

Buying the hybrids to save fuel/money is the intent. You should be delighted that the government is attempting to conserve your tax money.

Would you be happier if the government had a fleet of Hummers?
I would PREFER our governments support American companies - not foreign ones.

But American companies made hybrids.

So, anyone got an excuse why the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL don't buy their clothing from American companies?

Ooh, struck a nerve did I? I honestly don't check the labels. But I don't know why you're so focused on American made cars. Why not fixate on American made clothes, electronics, or even pet food?

I can't tell you how disgusted I was a Christmas; girls go to Catholic school, so go in to a Christian Store to but presents for the teachers. Virtually everything made in China. Disgusting!!

It is really hard to find american made products - but I do hope that situation improves.
