I'm actually very happy to see the type of interaction and discussion about this very vital issue.
It is important to realize though that there is not going to be a UHC program.
The President does not support, nor advocate such a program. Nor is the Congress taking up a UHC program.
It is not on the radar screen.
I hope you are right as I think I said in an earlier post however I am more concerned today after hearing about the social security shortfall. I fear they may use this to ram through a single payer system.
Snarky? I'm snarky because simply because I pointed out a that patients don't stop counting wait time when they get taken back but when they see the doctor? As you posted, your procedure was flawed and you seemed not to notice. I can only go by what you write.
Well, the patients should count the time spent with the nurse as somewhat meaningful. In my office, we weigh the pt, take the temp, ask them what their main concern is, get a list of their current meds, if indicated test their vision and hearing, graph their ht/wt on a growth chart, lots of other things. This happens when we take them back to a room.
Do you realize that a majority of American people oppose a single payer, UHC, program?
So what? Through the lobbying efforts of the medical industry, the people have been feed misinformation for decades. They believe it, just like you were fed and believed that R&D cost more than marketing. You were duped, so were they.

That counts as being seen, at least in my book. But then, if I have to wait more than 5 minutes or so for the doctor, I turn the clock back on.
