google 'Anatomy of a Riot' or Riot Psychology. It's a social thing, where people get pumped up and excited and do stupid things. They 'feed' off the crowd around them which then in turn brings in more people attracted by the excitement.

It's actually quite interesting and there are whole groups of people who study the 'crowd mentality' of humans.

Remember the World Cup when the United States beat Colombia on an "own goal?" The Colombian player who put that goal in his own net to give the game to the US was murdered when the team plane landed back home.

Fortunately, in this country we haven't had any assassinations when a particular team wins or loses...yet. But when it does happen, you can be sure that the phrase "freedom of expression" will come up at some point in the trial.

What's worse is that the city of Los Angeles is BANKRUPT and the stupid mayor Villiaraigosa wants to have a PARADE on the TAXPAYERS at an expense of $2,000,000!!! ($1,000,000 from the Lakers, and $1,000,000 from the Taxpayers!!)

Those bozos don't deserve a parade after what they did!

It is interesting.

There was a riot in my daughters college town last year...not in the same league as the one in LA but still, a couple hundred students from a few seperate parties that managed to merge in the streets and get rowdy. They fed off each other and it turned into mob mentality where common sense flies out the window. Eventually the riot police came with their shields, etc. What I told her was that when you see the geared-up riot police it's smart to get away from the scene ASAP. Only fools see that as an invitation to yell and scream and throw thing or set something on fire. There were a lot of fools that night.

I take it you have never been to Chapel Hill, E. Lansing, or Durham during respective Tar Heel, Michigan State, or Duke NCAA men's basketball finals appearances. Here is an example.

I know what you are going to say. And I agree.

You mix a bunch of no-life degenerates living off the welfare state, alcohol, and a reason to leave their homes... you get...
