Default Cap & Trade will give $25 billion more in loans to auto co for new tech - wonder if Ford will bite

Think we can be sure GM will take the $$. Will Chrysler????

Wonder if Ford will take advantage of the loans?
Perhaps they already do but they surely must be leery of govt loans at this point. Would guess that if they don't they will be at a disadvantage in new tech for vehicles.

The Congressional Budget Office's June 5 report on the Cap & Trade bill (H.R. 2454 American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009) says an increase of $25 billion in loans will be made available to auto manu/suppliers (an increase of $25 bill over what is already authorized).

Quote:
Increase, by $25 billion, the aggregate amount of loans DOE is authorized to make to automobile manufacturers and component suppliers under the existing Advanced Technology Vehicle Manufacturing Loan Program; http://www.cbo.gov/ftpdocs/102xx/doc10262/hr2454.pdf

Quote:
The bill would authorize the Secretary of Transportation to establish a standard for the manufacture of vehicles capable of using alternative fuels such as ethanol, methanol, and biodiesel. The bill also would direct the EPA to establish emissions standards for new heavy-duty vehicles and engines. Because both standards would depend on future regulatory action, the costs of the mandates are uncertain. http://www.cbo.gov/ftpdocs/102xx/doc10262/hr2454.pdf

Not listed, but I vote for converting garbage as the new fuel.

Default The Cap and Trade Thread

Folks call your Congressman and rebel against the Cap and Trade Bill- Government is using that bill to get more money out of us taxpayers. Expect your energy bills to double and even triple if this goes thru. Not to mention you will be paying out more in welfare to lower income folks so their energy bills do not increase whom Obama is trying to protect. Nobody taxed making over 250K that is a joke- this government grab will affect everybody. This bill would cost every individual taxpayer an average of $1800 to $2500 in increased energy costs. Transparency from Obama forget about it he is trying to ram this bill thru Congress with Pelosi's help before anybody truly understands what this bill is about. This will stifle our economy. Remember Obama believes the USA is great because of government not its citizens.

Do your homework- Spain was the model Obama was using. He was calling this a Green Jobs Bill. However, now that it has come to light that every one Green Job created in Spain destroyed 2.5 regular jobs Obama now refers to this Bill as the Clean Energy Bill. Also, using Europe as a model come on they are in a Depression over there where we are in a recession. Not to mention we will be out of this economic mess long before the Euro Weenies. The Dollar has been going up against the Euro. Vote for this bill and watch your energy costs soar. Common sense when Energy companies taxes and expenses go up who are they going to pass the bill onto the consumer.
