YouTube - AP Interview: Obama Reflects on Michael Jackson

Maybe I am getting carried away here, so I am interested in hearing what you think.

Does anyone else think that this reporter could have been more respectful with the way she questioned the President of the United States?
Was her approach warranted. Did she expect him to act a different way than he did because he is black? Or if he were a white president, do you think she would have even questioned him in the first place?

I don't think she was disrespectful, but I do think the idea that Obama should have made a speech about Jackson just because they both have dark skin is a bit ridiculous.

There is no such thing as being disrespectful to the President in the US.

You can be disrespectul to a person...a Plumber, a President, it makes no difference.

Deference to political elites is something only right wing sheep believe in.

i did not see over the top disrespect even if there was disrespect intended, mr obama as usual handled himself very well. i must say as an older citizen i dont think i would have made a statement to the president in such an accusatory manner. i think the problem is we have become so accustomed to disrespecting authority that we have become numb when we see it done.

Huh? Disrespectful? Actually I think its disrespectful to think the President of the United States "should" say something because a celebrity died... we don't live in an age of monarchy where celebrities are treated as royalties... people need to seriously get over celebrities...

Oh my goodness. You're funny -- delusional but funny.

Left wing "sheep" absolutely panted and drooled over Clinton and have annointed Obama as the new Mesiah.

Worship such as this is not limited to any one party. The right is equally at fault.

Sorry, but no disrespect here. Once I heard the topic I killed the feed.

I hear the topic of MJ several times a day. I have NOT heard any news other than that of his death and hey, I know all I need to know about that. Actually, more than I need to know.

Agree, agree.....ah, there it is, the partisan hate. I was getting worried for a second, a lucid rational post without any hateful rhetoric, but you didn't fail to disappoint. P.S. Maobama's bowing to the dictator of Saudi Arabia.
