I hope to god she runs so we can be treated to several years worth of entertaining videos of "visionaries" like my boy Harlan here. Better than anything on tv.

Don't fear belts.

No way, no how. Palin would have to convince moderates--the vast majority of the American people--and that will never happen. The only people who would ever vote for Sarah Palin are the extreme right-wing base--and that base is not getting any larger. They live in their own world: they can be as dedicated to and passionate about her as they choose, but they are absolutely insane if they think that her views represent the majority. And without alignment with the majority, no one has a chance.

If everyone agreed that she isn't qualified then nobody would be talking about her anymore. It's her fanbase that keeps the battle raging.
Exactly.

Because Sarah Palin, as awkward as she is, is more representative of the everyday American than any of the politicians in Washington DC. You may not agree with her ideology or her approach, but you cannot deny that she speaks from the heart, which is more than you can say for any politician in DC whose ideals are based on corporate influence and pure partisanship. Whenever I read anything negative about Sarah Palin, I view it as an attack on the "regular guy/gal," which means to me that our mass media is more for "politics as usual" in Washington than it is on the look out for us regular folk. Endless media attacks on Palin are constant reminders that our media loves a smooth talking, say-anything-to-get-elected politician (all politicians) and are ready to ridicule anyone outside of the establishment.
Sarah Palin is not the least bit "more representative of the everyday American." If she were, she would be Vice President. But she's not, so she isn't.

Good thing you have the VP already picked out. Going from Palin's past performance, the VP had better be prepared to step in when the going gets tough.

i hope she doesn't run ---though she is better qualified than what we have----i just think all the meanness heaped upon her and her family will just intensify if she runs(especially from all the insecure males and FEMALES that are so cruel now)--nothing is worth subjecting one and one's family to that!

It's really embarrassing to me as a woman that no one is allowed to have a critical opinion of her without being called "Jealous" or "Insecure". That's high school stuff right there. She's a big girl, and if she wants to be in politics, she should be able to handle criticism. Instead she plays the "poor little girl" card.

That is waht I really fear is a over reaction to Obamas policies that bring a change like we have never seen before for generations. Balance is really necessary IMO.
