MOSCOW — President Barack Obama and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev signed a preliminary agreement Monday to reduce the world's two largest nuclear stockpiles by as much as a third, down to the lowest levels of any U.S.-Russia accord, and counter what Obama called "a sense of drift" in the countries' relations.

Too bad the Secretary of State didn't make the trip, or was involved in the negotiations in any meaningful way.

Guess we really don't need her.

But then, how many times does that have to be demonstrated?

Am I the only person in the world who actually likes nuclear weapons? Seriously, a nuclear weapon is a tool. Nukes don't kill people. People kill people.

Russia always resorts back to paranoia and finds a way to not hold its end of the deal. On the surface it's good news and a good photo-op for the two presidents, but in the end it's nothing more than that if history is any guide.

There is only one answer to it and it's missile defense. It's absolutely ridiculous to think the only way to avoid nuclear war is that everyone is scared of mutual destruction. That's so obviously not the case anymore. We aren't fighting against atheist anymore....

Well, since those nukes are owned and operated by the U.S. government its probly those 11 are the only nukes out of the 10,000 that are actually functional
