Not exactly an anomaly. I think Jimmy Ccarter II will share the same fate as his namesake.

Well my Senators and Congresspeople are not being wimps. They are voting NO on all stimulus. Let the bad companies go bankrupt and reorganize. Don't throw good money after bad.

President Obama made the best decisions for the stimulus that he could based on the economic data he had at the time.

As new economic data continued to come in during subsequent months, it showed the economy was in worse shape than originally thought (please remember to thank Mr. Bush for this).
He had the same economic gurus working for him when he told his story that led to the stimulus but he failed to see what the Dem Congress critters put in that piece of pork. Over half pure pork so it must not have been so bad or he would used his line by line study of it. Oh, that's right, he didn't have time to read any more of it than the Congress did. Sad story but there it sits and in 4 months so little has been spent. How can we say this thing has helped anything when the money is sitting around. All the pork money got spent immediately but the "stimulus" money that was supposed to go to shovel ready projects just hasn't found its way into the economy.

I really can't understand how this thing helped our economy at all.

Oh wait, now Obama is saying the stimulus has "done it's job". hmmmm

Really Barry, has it? What job has it done?

Well I guess the best way to cover up a lie is to tell another one. No prob, the useful idiots will still sip your kool aide and follow in lockstep.

Like they (Republican's) have a plan to fix what they caused!
How would we know if they (Republicans) had any ideas when they aren't allowed to bring any ideas up in either house of Congress? I really don't understand how they do anything when they are silenced every time they try to suggest anything.

The truth is the Republicans are being the little wimps right now.
They do have nothing to offer. The moment the second stimulus words were uttered from the administration Rs should have been all over it talking about across the board tax cuts and not more wasteful spending.
Instead they bring no alternatives to the table.

It is time for new blood in Washington with no lobbyist or special interest connections.
China's GDP is expected to grow by 8% this year. They cut taxes and gave money to people and small businesses.

As I recall that's exactly what the Republicans wanted to do and that's exactly what we didn't do.

Now that the you know what has hit the fan, Obama is talking about giving breaks to small businesses.

Too little to late, we're done.

It's you who remains clueless. What Obama and a broad consensus of others said was that things were very bad and getting worse, and that the option of doing nothing about it was not an option at all. The only people not on board were boneheads and their close relatives, Congressional Republicans, who were off in the corner somewhere mumbling about...what was it again? Oh yeah...more tax cuts for the rich and mega-corporations. Wonderful plan. Your comments meanwhile are not even related to that non-debate, nor to anything else factual. You hang your entirely partisan hat on a single projection done seven months ago, claiming that if it had been done using the data available today, different numerical outcomes would have resulted. Brilliant. All we need to do then is take these data from today and mail them back to people still living in last December. As soon as you figure out a way to do that, let us know. Until then, you are just babbling your way through a very feeble attempt at Monday-morning quarterbacking.

What is your point? I have read this several times, and I don't detect one. Is it that health care and energy are somehow not worth dealing with? They aren't major problems? They aren't already (thanks to years of Republican neglect) long overdue for overhaul and redirection? You clowns need to consider the concept of put up or shut up. At this point, you don't know what either of these bills will end up looking like. No problem, though. You'll just bytch and moan in any case. Criticism merely to criticize. Opposition merely to oppose. You're a disgrace to the very concept of rational political discourse.

Opinions are judged by the quality of fact and theory underlying them. You don't have any. You are no more insightful, relevant, or useful than flipping a two-headed coin.

Did you read their economic plan? All 16 pages of powerpoint slides with charts and graphs. (I didn't see any arrows or circles on it!)
Sorry, but they'd rather say No, then say, we have any idea(s). (and still add a bit of pork of their own)

You think there was a crash. A sudden and unexpected bolt out of the blue. The housing market cracked in the Spring of 2006. Credit markets began to unravel in the Summer of 2007. At that point the administration had 12-15 months to isolate and treat the problem within the financial sector so as to keep it from bleeding out into the economy at large. They failed. Miserably.
