Of course, it does depend on how you measure "education". If you just look at high school diplomas, Texas had the least-educated population in 2004. (I acknowledge that California wasn't far behind.)

I'm just stating facts. McCain was obviously "red" enough for Republicans to nominate him as their candidate. There were many choices.

I thni it comes down to those that want less governamnt in their lifes as possible and those that bascially want more because they want governamnt to be lmore like a perent. I many cases alot of teh blue sates have gotten to teh point that their states revenues compared to thier popuation has become unbalanced. They want to tap into the fedesral monies more and more.Red sates bascially are much more likely to have a balanced budget and the peopole unwilling to give up thier choice for federal support or to support other sates with revenuses. We3 have seen a real change in the last decades of what states control more of the wealth.

I'm what you would call over-educated for my job. I've learned that formal education and salary don't always corolate. I know it's shocking, but it's true. People have a tendancy to vote red, remembering the Reagan years, to protect their wallets.

Any state with large numbers of inner city residents will have terrible high school graduation rates - it doesn't matter whether it's red or blue.

Half of the states in the top 10 on that list are red.

Obama also won the segment of the population that makes over $200,000/year. (52-46)

The hippies? LOL. Ok.
No seriously, I have hippie brothers. I get it. But, once they made over 200k they didn't understand why they had to share with their stoner friends
The upcoming "penalty for being over achievers" tax will convert many.

I think it has more to do with having a lot of uneducated immigrants. Being on the border with Mexico is a big reason why California and Texas have low percentages of high school graduates while Minnesota is #1.

McCain won the $100,000-$200,000 segment. Obama won the poorest segments with a significantly higher percentage than he won the $200,000+ segment with.

lol... I love this back-and-forth. Here - beat this:

Obama won the blacks, the Latinos, the Asians, the homos, the Jews, and women with large breasts! (Okay, I can't confirm that last one - I admit.)
