How about we leave them alone and protect our families and keep an eye on people that you allow to get close to your kids. Most sex offenders know their victims personally and have one of the lowest rates of recidivism.....
There is no amount of time they can serve paying their 'debt to society' for raping a child.
We are not talking about 17yo having sex with 19 yo, we are talking about people who RAPE CHILDREN.
No we aren't. We are talking about "sex offenders". Look at the title of the thread. Duh.
In my state there is a woman on the registry for 25 years for something she did when she was 10. Perhaps you ought to find out what you are talking about before you post.
You use the term "disgusting" as though it's no more than an opinion or some kind of cultural judgement. No society has ever condoned the abuse of children.
No society condones the abuse of children as they define it; that's a tautology. Plenty of societies do not share our view of what constitutes abuse. For a good example, google "Raoul Wuthrich molestation case".
I think we should put them in Jail for a good 25 years without bail or early release and have them under strict curfews when they are released...
I also think they should tatoo SEX OFFENDER on all of their foreheads after proven guilty IN ALL SERIOUSNESS
.
Hmmm.... maybe we should tatoo "Speeder" on your forehead because I'm sure at some time in your life you have exceeded the speed limit.
Same thing as other criminals. Prosecute them fairly.
And we should totally eliminate the sex offender database. That is cruel and unusual punishment.
The sex registry also causes harm.
It gives a false sense of safety.
