I'm not against "taxes" for things that keep our society running smoothly. What I am against is government becoming a blunt force in society, as well as the huge, economically ineffecent beauocracy that inevitably results.

This sounds like such a terrible idea.

That is a terrible idea. Without any revenue there would be anarchy, plan and simple, and eventually someone or some other country would take over and impose their will on such a place.

Also private police, give me a break. Without anyone to watch over them they would probably just take power for themselves just like in every other country in the world where no one, but the security forces themselves has power over the security forces. (Example Uzbekistan)

I say go for it. We must make society the way that it is in nature, where only those who are worthy enough to build their own epic fortresses are allowed to prosper and make the rules. And my fortress, will be biggest of all. And in my fortress world, it would be legal to hunt urban oppossum, and also to order floggings of miscreants by Elephant Men.

It would serve us well to have life and safety, ie military security and only providing minimum standards for consumer affairs that impact life and safety of the consumer (food and drug) provided by a government. It is not the governments roll to establish an educational system or a health care system as proposed and I believe we could function with far less government than we have. We do need a strong military.

Do I support lower taxes? Without a doubt.

No taxes? Wow....

We need government. If we're going to have it, it has to be funded.

I believe the fedgov. was supposed to gain revenue through tariffs....I would think that would work out fine considering all the crap we import to stay fat, dumb and happy.

Tarriffs worked fine way back when, but revenue from tarrifs simply will not sustain even a "small" g'ment for 300 million people.
