I agree with you, and... The right wing wants to WIN the argument. They reduce issues to simple terms and the passion for a solution loses to the passion of self-righteousness. For them, it's about being right, not doing right.
As I see it, the point of contention is the method of reform, not the need. The biggest bone of contention is that neither side will compromise an iota to achieve a workable solution.
As expected, you magnanimously allow disagreement, BUT only on a topic which you approve. This thread reeks of liberal hypocrisy, just like Barney Frank. Whether you like it or not, people do have different opinions than yours, and if you don't like their opinion, that is just too damn bad. Nobody needs your approval to speak their mind, and they sure as hell do not need their elected Representatives disparaging them for stating their opinion. Or maybe you would rather bring back the Gestapo in order to silence all dissent that you disapprove.
For 8 years we listened to liberals whine and moan about being silenced under the Bush administration, and now these very same liberal hypocrites are doing their best to silence dissenters.
Are those union thugs with baseball bats not working out like you expected, now that Americans are showing up armed?
At a Barney Frank town hall meeting in Dartmouth, MA, a constituent asks, "Why are you supporting this Nazi policy?"
Frank responds: "On what planet do you spend most of your time?" He then calls her approach "vile, contemptible
nonsense." He closes by saying: "Trying to have a conversation with you would be like arguing with a dining room table."
After reading through several pages here I am more and more convinced that "Educated American" is an oxymoron.
The idea that the Nazi's were a leftist party is laughable and pitiful. They did incorporate some elements of both left and right but the upshot is that they were fascists - a right wing ideology. That's one reason they were fighting the leftist Communists in WWII. And if you don't know why they used the term socialist in their name in spite of the fact they were right-wing, then I suggest you really open a history book.
No, I'd say he has a backbone, and is a politician who isn't afraid of confronting people's lunacy.
No, he just makes a fool of himself. Like when he railed on that student before.
