Good.

How about we lock up anyone who knowingly hires an illegal for, say, two years minimum, and fine them $10,000 per illegal employee?

Extend this to CEOs of major companies as well as individuals who want their yard work done. No excuses, no time off. You're guilty, you go to timeout.

No jobs available, they will self-deport, no LEO involvement required.

How's that sound to you?

That is one of the more fact-free assertions I've seen around here for a while. I don't think you know what an oligopoly is. Glenn Beck doesn't either, which is where you probably heard this tripe from.

mmmm lets see now...

Who was it that pushed so hard for NAFTA....and gave China "Most Favored Nation Trading Status".......We will export the jobs.....the Unions will continue to squeeze and suck and the population will continue to grow....Something’s' gotta give at some point.....

So another plant goes 'south'....and the jobs are lost. Now what will these people do for income? What will they do for health care....of any type?
The government could have made moves to help the companies stay put....of-set costs vrs. foreign competition...and helped off-set rising health care prices...but it seems popular (to someone some place...?) to continually blame and beat up on the very organizations that employ Americans in America, namely the American Companies.....
The Democrats, the Unions, The lefties, the "environmentalists", Hollywood whack-jobs continually blame the "company" the "corporation" for all societies ills. The company leaves for greener, easier, more affordable pastures....better operating environment, more cooperative government, and dare I say a more productive and happy work force and we all act indignant and surprised....Think about it....If you're the owner (share holder?) of a company and it's getting beat to S--T in the U.S...and loosing money like mad.....and you have the option to move to Mexico or Communist China (and they are SOOOO happy to have "american" companies relocate there....duh...)....do you REALLY stay in the U.S......and put up with B---H unions, Hollywood freaks and a tax-em to death Congress?........Nope......

At some point....American workers will become cheap again....and the companies....MIGHT return..... but I sort of doubt it....

The lefties tend to forget that Bill Clinton ushered in NAFTA and sold the economy to the Chinese (it was worth it though, they contributed to his campaign). They should have voted for Perot if they liked thier jobs.

Absolutely sickening! When are the insane trade agreements going to be renegotiated? This country is going right down the tubes if we don't!

Check out what happened in Galesburg when Maytag bailed out on them.

And another sickening aspect of this move was Maytag threatened to leave unless Illinois taxpayers paid for renovations to their facility. Which they did. And then they closed up and left anyway.

Have you been asleep for the past 30 years?

You might want to start paying attention, while you still have a job. Because there may no longer be a middle class anymore, its disappearing like the dinosaur. Welcome to the Gilded Age

As far as I'm concerned, the middle class was eliminated some time ago.

Odanny-good point on the Maytag situation.

So Whirlpool wants to join Maytag and all the dozens and dozens and dozens of other companies who leave the country and set up shop in other countries.
That's Ok, it's a free country. That's ok, it's your company.

Make the operation 100% gone, the company moves all its operations to Mexico. They can sell their houses, empty their bank accounts, and move everything lock, stock, and barrel to Mexico. All of it. Don't come back either.

Are you saying that we will have two America's? One the rich sitting on their verandas sipping tea while the rest will be like the poor of the world sleeping in cardboard hotels?
