I am guessing from your first sentence that you have no children. I've taken my kids with me when I vote since they were infants. We discuss it and they have asked random questions at those ages.
And that's great! So did I. But, notice, it is YOU who took your children with you, and it is YOU who discussed it with them.

I have a 5 and 7 year old and both of them were asking me questions about the President because of what some of their classmates have said. They have the rest of their lives to be involved in what drives their mommy nuts, they don't need it now.
And to be honest I have been really good about not letting my children know that I disagree with the President I am not sure if they come home with questions from this speech that I could contain myself and I don't want that impression on them.
