I am not panicked at all I just don't think it is the right thing to do. If he wants to talk to HS kids fine but not 5 year olds.

And that's great! So did I. But, notice, it is YOU who took your children with you, and it is YOU who discussed it with them.

I don't know how old your children are, but if we consider the youngest in this audience, say 4- 5- 6-year olds, they are like sponges. They will retell what they remember, but they most likely won't have a lot of questions. They will simply absorb, and it will be a seed sewn in the subconscious. Kids this age are very impressionable.

Wonder whether anyone has estimated how much this will cost the tax payers. That would be interesting.

I like to see that you hold so much hatred for something that you never lived through though. Maybe the Jews will get their proper retribution from their horrible black Egyptian slave masters decendents responsible for far more deaths and for a much longer time period than blacks ever experienced from the europeans. Would that be a good thing to you? I think that you should start working on some new pyramids.

Anyway, back to the point. I doubt that there are many people who hate Hussein because he is black. A few to be sure, but not as many as you seem to believe. Most people hate The Pink One because he is a megalomaniac with a socialist agenda. Just ask around. Try "do you hate Stalin, Marx, Mao, etc.?". If they say that they hate those people, they will be the same people who hate the Obamanation. Simple really. It's an ideological thing, not a race thing.
Could you please provide a link with evidence that Italians underwent the same enslavement as the ancestors of African-Americans? What planet do you live on, anyway?

You spend too much time listening to FIX News and reading wingnut blogs.

hahahahahaha, this is like reading the Onion. You only wish you personally knew someone as outstanding, articulate, and talented as Obama who could say something encouraging about school to your children.

do you think he's going to talk to 5 year olds on a HS level?

what do you think of the idea of going to your child's school? Probably other suspicious parents will be there.

Really, sanrene, your constant deflection of the race issue--which so CLEARLY underscores ALL of this insane paranoia about Obama--is predictable and tiresome. Is that all you have when your arguments go down the crapper?

Personally, I do not mind giving Obama or any President the forum. But unfortunately, I've heard the man and his associates speak. And I do not think their influence is appropriate or to be emulated by our students.

Presidential Medal of Freedom awardee: Her stewardship of the UN Human Rights Commission in 2002. At the April 2002 session, the commission voted (and passed) a resolution endorsing "all available means, including armed struggle" to establish a Palestinian state. Put aside whatever one thinks about the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. The commission chose specifically not to exempt suicide bombing--a plague of which had erupted in 2001-2002--from "all available means." Basically, under Robinson's stewardship, the commission decided to recognize the murder of non-combatant men, women, and children on buses and in cafés as legal.

-- Presidential Medal of Freedom awardee Mary Robinson, who chaired the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, who, in her role as secretary-general of the conference, failed to provide the leadership needed to keep the Durban 2004 UN Racism Conference on track and anti semitic.

Obama is using GE, ABC, NBC, ACORN, SEIU, & the NEA to advance WH agenda. I am very suspect of his upcoming speech. He is very narcasistic and don't believe he can pass up an opportunity to sell his agenda. The last person to speak directly to (indoctrinate) students was Hilter. I'm suspect. I do not think Obama will limit his address to working hard, studying hard and some volunteerism; it's going to go beyond that.

Please, all you hard-core socialism avoiders, keep your kids out of school that morning. I'm sure it'll stand you in good stead with your child's school principal and teachers, especially those who are black.

You will only come across like you are phenomenally insecure about your political, social, and world views.

Paranoid control freaks? N-a-a-h-h, not you!

I have a 5 and 7 year old and both of them were asking me questions about the President because of what some of their classmates have said. They have the rest of their lives to be involved in what drives their mommy nuts, they don't need it now.

And to be honest I have been really good about not letting my children know that I disagree with the President I am not sure if they come home with questions from this speech that I could contain myself and I don't want that impression on them.
