Is anyone else like me?

I consider myself neither a Democrat or a Republican. I am neither a liberal or a conservative. I find both sides to be rather repulsive and not working in the best interests of the common person. Our entire American society is in bad shape until we see political discussion as something more than kill-or-be-killed warfare we have today. (EDIT: Fixed a typo)

Politics now is not about improving America and keeping it a free nation, it is just a game of king of the mountain. One with all the power and money wins. Our elections are nothing more than popularity contests. And the politicians openly lie, cheat, do whatever it takes in order to get money, power, influence, win elections.

Both sides are guilty of doing roughly the same things. Convincing the others side is pure evil and completely wrong, incapable of compromise or reasoning. Silence the opposition, or reduce them to nothing - as if they bring much to the table in the first place. The left and the right are no better than each other.

The more I think about it, there is no reason for me to vote. Neither party, nor any candidate, represents me or the good of the American people.

The longer this madness keeps going, it's a question of when the second civil war starts. Not if, but when and who starts it. And of course, there will be scum of the earth which profit heavily off of it too - those are the ones who will likely be pushing the hardest for it.

I don't think it, I know it. Both parties are so corrupted that they really are no different from each other. The only difference is the rhetoric they use to get elected. Once in special interests and pork rule the day. Fiscal responsibility is not even a consideration. After all China seems to be willing to loan us money when ever we ask.

Yup... I find both sides a bunch of liars, deceivers, and manipulators.... However I am more fiscal conservative... Why? Because I believe you don't spend more than you have and you don't steal for the benefit of others... most of the warfare are from extremist groups, socialist liberals, idiots, political grandstanding, and corporatists....

Both sides lie and deceive for their OWN interests and it is really tiresome... both sides don't want to "fix" healthcare... they either want to steal and provide services through tax slavery or want to protect the bottom line of stockholders or corporatists... both sides are at fault... albeit liberals do more lying and deceiving than the other side... Unfortunately for liberals, not everyone is short-sighted to not see beyond their twisted plots...

Neither party is any good for the American people and hence why so many people of other "political ideology" call themselves Republicans and Democrats... the neo-conservatives, the socialists, etc etc.. when one side blames the other and use the "generic" name of Republican/Democrat... it is then you know they are politicizing the situation.... its time to call them for who they REALLY are.. neo-conservatives are neo-conservatives... socialists are socialists...

When a second civil war starts... it won't be because of Republicans or Democrats... it will be because of intolerant socialists who have taken the power and now wants to steal everything...

yep. I do too. I'm a registered democrat, but I'm more conservative than liberal. Not religious, not a hippie...In the middle. There is nobody that represents me at all in govt. I need to change my affiliation to "unaffiliated" .... not sure if that's spelled right....

Wow. What a pessimistic view. I don't share it. We don't have a perfect system, but no country does.

If anything leads to a civil war, it'll be the folks who are calling for certain states to secede from the Union. They're not able to get things their way, so instead of working to change the system from within, they'd rather throw childish tantrums.

Unless we get a society most resembling Jennifer Government first, and the corpratists do anything to preserve their power.

But either one is entirely plausible, and it's basically a question of which one happens first.

I have no confidence in either party, they just seem to corrupt and self serving to me. They seem to feed off of divisiveness in America, and subvert liberty every chance they are given.

This is it right here, this subtle stab at the right, the underlying message that "the other side is the problem." This is an obvious partisan comment, despite it's lack of direct attack, it is only thinly veiled.

If you really believe that "the other side" is bad then you must also admit that your side is equally as bad because they both cater to the same people, they both get paid by the same people, they both make promises they cannot, nor even have the intent of keeping.

I belieive in what the Democratic Party stands for.

I also know the Democrats need to start cleaning up their party and making it better. You don't leave a party, you get it back on track.
