So what makes you think if the parents can't get their kids to do the right thing that Obama can? Isn't that a bit egotistic on his part? You really think they are going to carry his message with them for the rest of their lives? That is laughable.
So in essence, what you are saying is that the President of the United States should not care about our educational system and the kids that are in it. Do I have that right? You are also saying that you think our educational system is good, and that we are doing very well in comparison with other countries, right? And that it's somehow ok for kids to drop out of school, right? And that if a parent has already failed, that all is lost on a kid, and that the President of the United States of America, should not say a word... Is that what you think?
Let me ask you this, how do you feel about the "No Child Left Behind" way of doing things? Do you find that to be a bit invasive, or controlling in any way?
Um, you can ask anyone who is biracial what check mark they use when asked for their race.. "biracial" is only an option on a census report, ironically which was added in 2000..
He's only biracial when someone says something negative and mentions his race; when someone says something positive then he's black. See how that works?
And what a best way to start but to show some respect to the President.

When did it become a communist/socialist thing to show respect to a world leader? Agree or disagree I was always taught to show respect to authority. Does that mean I have to believe everything they say? Of course not. I didn't like G.W. Bush, didn't agree with most (if not everything) he stood for, yet I still found it completely disrespectful and embarrassing when he was booed at Obama's inauguration. Like it or not, as a parent your kids imitate you and there comes a point where you tell them (either in words or actions) to show respect. If it's show respect only when you agree or feel like it, then it's not wonder you have classrooms full of kids cursing off their teachers or threatening to sue if you get detention.

hey, remember when Bush Sr. did this? The left had a heart attack and a hissy fit about it and wanted a congressional hearing about it.
Sure, the opposition created a fuss when the first Bush gave his speech - that's politics. But were children all over the nation pulled out of school because of the speech? Were schools afraid to air the speech over insane pressure from the massive partisan uproar beforehand? I've never seen this kind of reaction to a speech given by the President to students, and frankly, it's sad to see how grown adults jumped on board this smear campaign and helped perpetuate the senseless mass hysteria. I can't help but think this is nothing more than a result of partisanship breeding ignorance.
