Obama: Legalize illegals to get them health care - Washington Times

Quote:
President Obama said this week that his health care plan won't cover illegal immigrants, but argued that's all the more reason to legalize them and ensure they eventually do get coverage.

Really?
I read the linked article and he said nothing of the sort.
What he did say is:
Quote:
"Even though I do not believe we can extend coverage to those who are here illegally, I also don't simply believe we can simply ignore the fact that our immigration system is broken," Mr. Obama said Wednesday evening in a speech to the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute. "That's why I strongly support making sure folks who are here legally have access to affordable, quality health insurance under this plan, just like everybody else.
Sounds like the big plan is amnesty and then bennefits.

To a greater or lesser degree, yes. Also what McCain was proposing.

If you recall, that was one reason both of them had little support among conservatives, and cost them support within the Republican party.

Yes, Bush, McCain and Obama as well as other democrats and republicans. This will always be an open issue.

Here we go again...somebody providing a link to a biased rag of a paper owned by the demented reverend Sun Myung Moon.

Rev. Moon Exemplifies Right Wing GOP Subsidy of Big Media to Frame Message

In 2002, Rev. Moon pronounced 'The Washington Times will become the instrument in spreading the truth about God to the world.' But the Washington Times--like the New York Post and Weekly Standard for Rupert Murdoch--are investments in obtaining financial regulatory and other favors from Republican administrations in return for helping frame and market the GOP talking points.

I really do not care if Obama, ( I will not call him President),wants the illegals to go home and apply for citizenship.
I believe that we should round all of the illegals up and immediatly ship them back where they came from, and the finish building the border fence!
I can hear people already saying, " it would be cost prohibitive", think about it if they all were shipped back we would not havt to pay for everything for them and in the end save millions.
I am in favor of starting with the illegals in our prisons. Do like Castro did, ship all of the criminals back to the country of origin and let them deal with it!
