Yes - a lot of people are starting to forget. Thanks for putting this out there. Having known a number of those that didn't make it
out that day, and thankfully knowing a few more that did....I will NEVER forget. NEVER. And I will always be one of the ones
that will never understand why so many say we don't belong "over there".
That was the reason for going over to Afghanistan to begin with. Turned out very differently and we're all over the map in the ME now and the hunt for Bin Laden is all but gone off of anyone's radar screen.
I think what we're doing there now is protecting the poppy fields and the oil pipelines under the guise of "protecting people's freedoms" yet those people never asked for help.
I rememebr why we are fighting very well. The thing is I want us to use the number of troops that need to be there to actually accomplish something ;not put ours troops there to be targets. We need to do what is necessary to win or not expect our tropps to be more victims. We have become a nation that thinks war is a gentlemans game and it never has been.
Al-Qaeda is in Pakistan and so is Osama bin Laden, if he really is still alive. There is no good reason to be in Afghanistan as it will take 40 years to "nation build" which is somehting we should not be involved with anyway. As for Iraq, we should have never been there is the first place.
