I dont find it racist at all, but I have no doubt that if a white individual vowed to only patronize white owned businesses, they would be called racist.
p.s. I think the couple is pretty much attempting to make money from the attempt, anyone can choose to patronize any business they wish, to let the world know about it though, there is a bigger adjenda.

That was my first thought too, if a white person did it, then it would be called racist.
I am split on this one as I think their thought process is to help out black people who are trying to make a better life. But at the same time, that discriminates against any other people who are trying to achieve the same thing. Bottom line for me is that since they separating people based on their race, it is racist. Until they see people as people and not as demographics, then it is wrong.
Why would it be racist?
For anyone. You can spend your money where you choose.
Or are you choosing to look for bias where none exists outside of your head?
Who is going to call anyone who shops anywhere racist, unless that's your big fear.
It's only racist if you are vocal about not shopping in a store because it's owned by blacks as your sole reason for not shopping there.
Otherwise, how would anyone know?
No one forces anyone to shop anywhere.
Geez, this is a non-issue.
I don't shop at any store that has an xian fish in the window.
I choose to shop at Trader Joes and local organic markets (when I live in the states).
I can spend my money where I want, as can you.
People in CA are not shopping at Prop 8 supporter stores.
I do think it might be a little difficult to shop at black owned stores only; again, choice.

It's not racists, it's just silly..However, by in large black owned business are supported by black people as with any ethnic group. Italians, Portuguese, Asians, Jews and whatever will usually patronize the businesses of those people the share an ethnicity with or they live in close proximity with. This couple chose to be extreme which is their choice. I'm a bargain hunter myself but if all is equal, I'd chose the black owned business as well.
Not racist at all. And yes, if a white person vowed to patronize only white-owned businesses, it would be racist.
