Women are far more likely than men to be kicked out of the military under the "don't ask, don't tell" policy against gays in uniform, according to government figures released Thursday that critics said reflect deep-seated sexism in the armed forces.

Women accounted for 15 percent of all active-duty and reserve members of the military but more than one-third of the 619 people discharged last year because of their sexual orientation.

Won't speak for all branches of the military. The instances I saw of homosexual people getting kicked out of the military mostly involved having sex on duty on the ship, something straight couples were kicked out for as well.

Actually, it does speak for all branches of the military, according to the report. In every branch, gay women are kicked out in larger proportions than gay men.

Some of us are able to have intelligent conversations about certain topics that we find interesting. That's all. If you don't find the topic interesting, you're welcome to ignore it.

What I meant to say was "I won't speak for all branches of the military". The common misperception is that all branches of the military are the same. They're not. I know lots about the Navy because I served in the Navy but I don't know much about the Army, Air Force, or Marines because I never served in any of those branches. I don't know what life is like in those branches.

You really need to grow up & learn how to post like an adult. If you're so offended by gays then don't post on these threads, simple as that. I suspect however that you're just looking for a fight, just like a schoolyard bully.

Military men hate lesbian women. For the most part, Military men, are Narcisstic, Arrogant, Women haters, who only like women if they are "blondes" with big jugs and daisy duke shorts. A woman who does not swoon over them, who is actually smart, and a "threat" to their egocentrism, is immediately suspect. Especially if she is smarter, or better than them at something.

Maybe the men hate being reminded that some women just prefer satisfying another woman. It might be a blow to the egos.
