No wonder The Big Three US automakers are in trouble. They are at odds with what the majority of Americans believe in!!

I despise Disney, the promoter of hatemonger Rosie O'donnell. ABC programming is terrible, I never watch it. Bank of America is an illegal alien credit card promoter and I do not bank with them either. I do not buy Miller beer either, as they openly sponsor illegal alien programs to help them find jobs and stuff. I get Bud... but I am not a big drinker either! I avoid Home Depot... I go to Lowe's because Home Depot is an open promoter of open borders and looks the other way at illegal aline employees.

Wow.... I guess I am doing my part not to be a part of such despicable companies.

Lets not forget...

I always find it very interesting when someone who is homophobic has to paint gay people as being pedophiles, that is the only way to address the problem in their minds, if they had to address it reasonably and with the facts, they would be left standing with nothing to say...

While being gay has not been a mental disorder since 1973homophobia such as we see here is headed for it debut as a mental disorder...In fact peer reviewed psych journals are suggesting that people who are homophobic might be hating people who are gay because deep down they are gay themselves and can't deal with it...BUT I am sure these same people will put no credence into what the psychiatric community says either because it doesn't fit their idea of the world...

Just face the fact, TravelingDude, your hatred isn't based on fact, it's not based on truth, it's really not even based on Christianity (Jesus loves everyone, and if you think he doesn't, you're delusional).

Your hatred is based on just that. Hatred. And it's possibly self-hatred.
Amen to that!

And I too know (sadly) quite a few women who were molested by men, one by her own grandfather.

Two of my psychology teachers told me that a child is far safer with a gay man, then with a straight man...the most notorious killers are straight, with the one exception of Dahmer...

Men who sexually molest children have LOVE relationships with women, making them straight, not gay...

When a man sexually abuses someone, child or adult, its not about the sex, its about the control...

I agree, I think this extreme hatred/homophobia is alot about self hatred AND being a voyeur, why else would anyone care what others do in their relationships. As long as everyone is a willing participant and of legal age, then why should anyone care...as an animal lover I also prefer that no animals be included...

You're absolutely right, and I agree that it's often a self-loathing situation... and before any of them say it, I'm not using that as an insult (saying somebody is gay), since I don't think of it as a negative thing. Since about half of my friends & a few family members are gay, obviously I don't think it's a bad thing! That conclusion is just simple logic, based on what I know about psychology, and from stories we've all heard. I wish those who were self-loathing would come to terms with it, so they could be happier people - and maybe treat others with more respect.

I'll shout out another AMEN to that! I also love both of those ladies, no matter what their orientation is... they're funny, smart, kindhearted (Ellen especially), honest, decent people. Shouldn't a person's character matter more than who they love, and how well they can memorize the Bible?

I never said I was against homosexuality or that I disagree with homosexual lifestyle choices. It is not my place to judge the lifestyle choices of others, and in fact I have both gay family members and friends that I love dearly, and I am not "against them". However, the marketplace, including the human resource market, is very efficient. Unless being gay has a very high correlation with some negative performance factor for a worker in a particular industry (an example may be a church school), those firms that discriminate based on sexual orientation will be passing up qualified candidates. Over the long run these "discriminating firms" will perform worse than their non-discriminating competitors and will eventually be out of the market place. I suggest this is the very reason Ford extends benefits to gay couples, so that Ford is not at a competitive disadvantage in the employment market place.

My point is that in the long run, the marketplace will resolve discrimination issues in a fair and efficient manner. We do not need anti-discrimination laws dictating to a business owner at the point of a gun how and who they should hire, and thus yes, trampling on the business owners liberties! If companies provide health benefits to domestic partners for the sake of remaining competitive in the marketplace, that should be their choice, not something forced on them by government action by a group that wants to be treated differently then every other group (example, I want health insurance for my nephew, but you do not see me joining a group of uncles demanding health insurance be provided for their nephews).

From your post, i gather that you think that gov't legislation is forcing employers to hire more gays (or at least obvious ones) and provide them with employee benefits also. from my understanding, the anti-discrimination laws that have been passed (so far ONLY at the individual state level, and only 17 of those States) affect the terminations of gay employees for no performance-related reason. Throughout the South, there is a chain restaurant called Cracker Barrel that rountinely dismissed employees if it discovered that they were gay. This had nothing to do with their performance at all. It had to do with the fact that the company did not want any gay people working there. I'm not aware that there is any law requiring employers to give gay employees' partners any benefits even when given to their hetro counterparts. Even in massachusetts where gays are legally "married", federal express employees' partners are not able to get benefits when their hetro counterparts are getting them.

And comparing partners' benefits to getting benefits for your nephew? come on. As long as employers continue to give family health insurance benefits to all qualified employees, it is only fair that they not exclude gay employees partners' from those benefits. If it was your gay family and you saw that every other family was getting those benefits, you'd do it for your family too.
In a better world, we wouldn't have to begging employers to offer good affordable health insurance. but we're not there yet.
