Yawn. Don't you folks get tired beating up on GWB? You people bashed him in office, you bash him out of office. Are you that desperate to try and deflect attention from this administration's problems and failures you have to bring the WMD arguement?

Not really trying to beat up Bush, but the original link I started didn't work, it works now. And the article does mention about democrats being complicit as well. It's not really a bash-Bush thread but more like, y'all were duped.

And the number 2 Democrat in the Senate -who was on the Senate intelligence committee - admitted that the Senate intelligence committee knew before the war started that Bush's public statements about Iraqi WMDs were false. If the committee knew, then the White House knew as well.

President Clinton himself had expressed great concern about chemical and biological terrorism in the United States. Bin Ladin had reportedly been heard to speak of wanting a “Hiroshima”and at least 10,000 casualties. The CIA reported that a soil sample from the vicinity of the al Shifa plant had tested positive for EMPTA, a precursor chemical forVX,a nerve gas whose lone use was for mass killing. Two days before the embassy bombings, Clarke’s staff wrote that Bin Ladin “has invested in and almost certainly has access toVX produced at a plant in Sudan.”43...

On November 4, 1998, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York unsealed its indictment of Bin Ladin, charging him with conspiracy to attack U.S. defense installations. The indictment also charged that al Qaeda had allied itself with Sudan, Iran, and Hezbollah. The original sealed indictment had added that al Qaeda had “reached an understanding with the government of Iraq that al Qaeda would not work against that government and that on particular projects, specifically including weapons development, al Qaeda would work cooperatively with the Government of Iraq.”109 This passage led Clarke, who for years had read intelligence reports on Iraqi-Sudanese cooperation on chemical weapons, to speculate to Berger that a large Iraqi presence at chemical facilities in Khartoum was “probably a direct result of the Iraq–Al Qida agreement.”

And yet both Stupid Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton BOTH VOTED TO THE WAR!!!

Ha ha ha, the joke is on you.

They knew there was no WMDs and the rats still voted to send our troops to war. In fact the moronic stupid VP said that Saddam needs to removed and posed a danger to the world.

Get over it, Obama is a war monger himself, only choosing to go at Afghanistan as his choisce while at the same time allowing the enemy terrorist to have rights as Americans!

Yup, everyone knew including the huge list of current congressional dems who happened to vote for the war.

Next.

A couple of kids committed suicide after returning from downrange.
War, Bush's gift that keeps on giving (or is that taking) ...
Have one of your kids die in this folly and see how you feel.

News if flowing again since Bush is gone.
The more we find out, the more we'll discuss it.

AR Traveler, great excuse.
That was going on for years with some weaponry we sold them.
If that was really the case and not a ruse, why aren't we in Dafur and other places?
Weak argument.

This thread was a double post, the original one get deleted for some reasons. It's a mess up on my part so I'll apologize.

It's worse than that. Don't you recognize garbage when you read it?

"For example, Tony Blair - the British Prime Minister - knew that Saddam possessed no WMDs."

From "knew"...

"Inspectors in Iraq (like who?) had also told the Foreign and Commonwealth Office that they believed (believed?) that Saddam might not (might not?) have chemical and biological weapons."

My Administration has pursued, and will continue to pursue, these objectives through active application of all relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions. The evidence is overwhelming that such changes will not happen under the current Iraq leadership.

In the meantime, while the United States continues to look to the Security Council's efforts to keep the current regime's behavior in check, we look forward to new leadership in Iraq that has the support of the Iraqi people. The United States is providing support to opposition groups from all sectors of the Iraqi community that could lead to a popularly supported government.

Iraq Liberation Act

That wasn't "W". That was Bill Clinton in 1998 calling for the ouster of Saddam.

Now, let's imagine the future. What if he fails to comply, and we fail to act, or we take some ambiguous third route which gives him yet more opportunities to develop this program of weapons of mass destruction and continue to press for the release of the sanctions and continue to ignore the solemn commitments that he made?

Well, he will conclude that the international community has lost its will. He will then conclude that he can go right on and do more to rebuild an arsenal of devastating destruction.

And some day, some way, I guarantee you, he'll use the arsenal. And I think every one of you who's really worked on this for any length of time believes that, too.

Text Of Clinton Statement On Iraq - February 17, 1998

Our ability to ensure that Saddam Hussein is not producing weapons of mass destruction, therefore, has substantially diminished. Even if full inspections were eventually to resume, which now seems highly unlikely, experience has shown that it is difficult if not impossible to monitor Iraq’s chemical and biological weapons production.

Letter to President Clinton on Iraq

Did all these people fail to understand the nature of the problem?

Were they all paranoid war mongers too?

Yes.

Paranoid war mongers? Probably. Cynical war mongers and liars? Most certainly.

God damn Bill and Hillary Clinton to hell, if there were such a place, and all the other Democrats who supported the Iraq fiasco. I won't even offer the standard Democratic excuse that they were duped. Yeah, Bush certainly did lie, as does every politician looking to start a war. But half the Dems in the Senate voted against the war resolution, and a person can't be fooled by such obvious war hype unless they are simply looking for a reason to be fooled.

Does that satisfy you?
