I was born and raised a midwesterner and am very proud of my region. However, if many of my fellow midwesterners want to move out of the region, more power to them. I understand the allure of other regions of this country, and they are nice places to visit, but I don't want to live anywhere else than the midwest.
Let 'em move, more room for me to play.
Born and raised in the Midwest and still have lots of family there. But after 50 years of winter blizzards and sweltering summer humidity, I opted for the Southwest after my husband passed away. Yeah, summers here in Vegas can get quite hot, but I can take the heat quite handily because of the lack of humidity. And I'd much rather have a January day like today was, with a slight drizzly rain all day, than have to fight my way through two or more feet of snow just to get to the mailbox!
...everyone from those regions seem to be so obsessed with moving South.
I predict this is a ridiculous comment...............
5 seconds later: oh look I'm right.
If everyone left the northeast for the south people would leave the south for the same reason they leave the north east.....its over crowded, over worked and too damn expensive
There are doubts the country would survive after 8 years of the Obama administration. That is why the 2010 elections are important.
The 2004 elections were important for similar reasons. Anyone who thought the U.S. couldn't survive four more years of Bush would be wright.
