I told yhall. Obama is trying to turn our country into the USSR . We need to stop his socialistic, communistic, fascist, liberalistic, elitist and homosexualistic agenda NOW!
[quote=zz4guy;11999292]One has to ask, what in the world are we getting for all this money?? /quote]
You mean the trillion we poured into the sands of Iraq and Afghanistan? Good question, one that I am sure our grandchildren would like to tell us about if we're still around.
Whoever is running Congress is to blame, currently its Democrats and has been for years.
We just went over it, and it turned out it has been mostly Republican since 1995. Dems took over in 2007 (won in Nov 2006, and took over in 2007) and we were already nose-diving at that point. Partisan bickering is not the answer.
What 8 years are you speaking of? The last 8 years where Democrats have held Congress for the last 4 of them, Republicans 2, and a split Congress for the other 2? I agree, 8 years of wrecking the country is expensive to fix, I'm glad you acknowledge its the Democrats doing that...
(for the timeline, Split Congress 2001-2004, Republicans 2004-2006, and Democrats 2006-2010)
So you pretended you didnt know what the graph was, while clearly you did, and then you went on to dispute the accuracy of it, while validating they were estimates made by the Obama administration. Wow, he was only $400 BILLION off on his projections, I guess we should be thankful they were in the postive!!
The graph was not produced by the Obama administration. It was produced by the Heritage Foundation, which not surprisingly doctored it to fit their partisan preferences. Why don't you stop trying to pass counterfeit currency...
Wait, Obama said we can cut $500 Billion from Medicare right? Isnt that how they are planning to pay for national healthcare? Why the big concern now over $60B in cuts when Obama is proposing similar cuts per year?
Speaking of counterfeit, the proposed "cuts" to Medicare are not reductions in services, but reductions in the per unit cost of services. These have already been agreed to by hospitals and medical device and drug manufacturers who stand to see substantial new profits from having 95% of people insured instead of 85%, and they are willing to split the difference with the government if it helps them get acccess to those 30-35 million new patients.
Well, that's to be determined isn't it? A positive outcome is what we all want I presume. The outcome is for the betterment of the country, not just for "liberals." Republicans are looking like mopes right now, in deep denial after the Bush years. Thank God, we have a man like Barack Obama as our leader now.
Mopes, they are, and then some. They behave too often like whiny little spoiled brats whose sensibiliies were hurt by being told that their boy Bush was wrong about everything, defending him to the hilt, and then seeing that, by God, he really was wrong about everything. As the result of everything that the right-wing encouraged for eight years, we and the rest of the world were plunged into a huge mess. Their attitude is one of denial and not just refusal to help in setting things right, but active antagonism toward those who are doing the work necessary to accomplish that. With friends like these...
I dont think you should be telling others to get a clue when your only response is your admission that you dont have a clue either..
As a person who hasn't yet figured out that Clinton ran unified budget surpluses for four years and used some of that money to pay down the public debt, it's not really your place to be running around talking about anyone not having a clue about budget bills. Not content to have been wrong about everything for eight years, you've now made it nine. Nice work...
We just went over it, and it turned out it has been mostly Republican since 1995. Dems took over in 2007 (won in Nov 2006, and took over in 2007) and we were already nose-diving at that point. Partisan bickering is not the answer.
Bickering is the only path for the right-wing. There is no path involving any admission of the huge mistakes they and their favorites made that they are going to go down. They are steadfast in insisting that they sre not at all responsible and that we must keep doing what doesn't work until we get it right. They aren't going to do anything but pointlessly whine and scream at any who won't let them have their way.
The budget was long since broken and the credit cat was already long out of the bag by the time the electorate awoke and started tossing these airheads out of town. And Iraq and New Orleans were already messed up beyond what anyone could have believed. Nothing at all was accomplished on their watch. Nothing on health care, nada on energy, zip on immigration reform. Nothing at all. All we got was Jack Abramoff, Mark Foley, and Terri Schiavo. What a tragic waste of eight long years. Historians will write as much of the things that could have been done but weren't as they will of the things that shouldn't have been done but were.
