I'm about 98% sure that the misspelling of Barney Frank's name in the title is not an accident; he wrote 'Fwank' to mock Frank's lisp which is almost certainly a jab at the fact that he's gay. Combine that with the fact that the only two choices for the poll are 'yes' and 'probably' and... well, there you go!

Well you'd be wrong. The deliberate misspelling of Frank's name was to emphasize his speech impediment. If I could have come up with a means to convey the fact that when one is within earshot of Frank when he is speaking one needs to be wearing foul weather gear to deal with the torrent of spittle he spews, along with the crap, I'd have done so.

Well, that supports most of my point; mocking someone for a speech impediment is immature and hateful. When that speech impediment is a lisp, which fairly or unfairly is often associated with gay people and used as a stereotype for gay people, and the person being mocked is gay... well, I'm sure you can put 2 and 2 together.
It's incredibly sad that so many people in this forum have to resort to childish ad hominem attacks rather than focusing solely on substantive arguments. Seriously people, grow up...
(Honestly, the more and more I post here the more and more I wonder how old various posters are... are there a lot of teenagers posting here? I'm certainly beginning to think so.)

Did you argue with such conviction when folks made fun of how Bush talks? Or Palin?
Frank is a public official and ridicule comes with the territory. I normally don't indulge in such a bash but Frank invites it.

Yeah, in most cases. Just yesterday I admonished a couple liberals for referring to Republicans as 'repukes' and the GOP as the "Garbage Ole' Party' - these types of immature, ad hominem attacks have no place in civil discourse, they only serve to undermine the respectability of the person employing them. When I see someone, either liberal or conservative, resorting to this type of language I have a real hard time taking them seriously; they use it as a means of drawing attention away from the fact that they don't have legitimate substantive arguments. If you have real, valid arguments you shouldn't have to resort to such language.
