Normally, I am against giving any sort of trials to criminals or terrorists.

The only thing here that bothers me is that some of these people may be innocent. There is nothing worse than putting an innocent man/woman through hell while they were innocent.

I do remember a year or so ago about a case of "[SIZE=-1]Fouad al-Rabiah". He gave a fake confession because he was tortured.

If you are caught in the act of terror, mark my WORDS. NO TRIAL FOR YOU! Straight to jail, you dog! The guy who tried to blow up the plane over Detroit. There should be NO TRIAL for him WHATSOEVER. But some of these people...it is unknown...

If the battle rages on US soil, it is not a battlefield? How strange. Nice that you can change your story every post you make.

Your words: The battlefield is anywhere these guys plot and plan attacks. That's been clear for years. When you are dealing with terrorist cells in every nation of the world...yeah, it's a big battlefield.

Yes, thanks for talking yourself into a corner. Battlefield is everywhere, and therefore Reid was indeed arrested on the battlefield.
Your link didn't give a number, but somehow you came up with "hundreds".

Hundreds of Gitmo prisoners were turned in by their neighbors when we offered money for anyone turning them in. They guys turned in their the neighbors they didn't like, not because they were terrorists. That's why Bush released them.
Since about 25% of those that have been released have returned to the battlefield, I'd say the estimate of "innocents" is overblown.

One in five detainees released from the U.S. military prison at Guantanamo Bay has joined or is suspected of joining terrorist groups like al-Qaeda, says a classified Pentagon assessment.

Gee, I PROVED you were wrong when you stated the thread wasn't about enemy combatants.

I PROVED you were wrong about mock trials.

I'm batting 100% and my argument is right on point with the OP.

Whose idea was it to release them?

And if the MO is consistent, once they have run out of red herrings we'll just start from the beginning all over again.

How many of the cells and attacks disrupted in the US have involved US citizens?

My story or argument has not changed at all.

The lefties are the ones deflecting. Enemy combatants given rights of a US citizen.
