Propaganda is defined as:
~the spreading of ideas, information, or rumor for the purpose of helping or injuring an institution, a cause, or a person ~ideas, facts, or allegations spread deliberately to further one's cause or to damage an opposing cause;
also : a public action

To be "government-sponsored" it would have to be funded by public funds/tax dollars.
NEA (National Education Association) falls in to this category.

So, imagine my surprise when I found this: NEA - Recommended Reading: Saul Alinsky, The American Organizer (http://www.nea.org/tools/17231.htm - broken link)

Oh, not to worry...I'm sure Atlas Shrugged is on that list as well. A noble organization such as the NEA would surely be academically honest and place something with a contrarian viewpoint as recommended reading, right?

Oh we won't turn into a socialist country overnight..too many people would revolt.
It takes time for acceptance. Start with kids today so the next generation of adults will be accepting of it. This is not an "Obama" thing..this is from the people behind him.

Each step we take towards socialism/marxist/communist/collectivism/totalitarianism is a step further away from freedom, liberty and individualism.

Imagine that, the NEA suggesting Marxist litreture for our children, at the same time that pro 0bama groups want to recruit our school children into Saul Alinsky's radical movement to radically change our country.

If shopping malls, consumerism, cookie-cutter housing, corpulence and idioicy are representative of freedom, liberty and most comically individualism, then please sign me up for oppression, tyranny and collectivism.

From the site:

The "Reveille" title page quotes Thomas Paine... "Let them call me rebel and welcome, I feel no concern from it; but I should suffer the misery of devils, were I to make a w***e of my soul."
I suggest that you all rebel by not reading what is recommended. This rebellion should be easy since there is no gun being held to your head.

Not our heads, no.
But recommended as part of lesson plans for our school-aged children.
So they'll have grades held to their heads....
