Why can't we have a political discourse without the unnecessary cheap shots and name calling?

When a person speaks about our President in such a manner of not grieving after his death and calling him a rat bastard, that is a cheap shot from the right side.
This is a husband and father of two young girls.
I have never wished anyone dead, regardless of how much I disagree with their politics.
If you don't like the person in the White House, all you gotta do is shut up, wait it out and Vote!
If you do not like the person in the whitehouse you have every right to protest. you do not have to shut up. What are you going to do kill the people in protests like Iran does?
We resort to name calling when we have no valid arguments, or we don't want to admit that we are wrong.
I have nothing against different opinions, but this whole name calling from BOTH sides is so annoying and has absolutely nothing to do with an intelligent debate.
I also see that people with the least knowledge about issues are the ones that resort to name calling the most.
Because when people have weak arguments, they usually resort to name calling.
I go with this one.
