Vermont has had this for??? Years, at least, I have never heard of an issue with no-permit CCW there. Alaska added it 5 years ago or so. I'm disappointed that my state (Idaho) is behind the times on a basic freedom. We are an open carry state, so things aren't all bad.

Now,many criminal elements will get a CCW & start commiting crimes. Then the anti-gun,will blame the whole "gun culture " of USA.

We,the good, must stop shooting ourselves in the foot.

Instead of such blind, blanket "liberties ", let's try to win the fight for CCW in campuses, where we suffered humiliating defeats...

Let's restrict or eliminate the "gun -free" zones, public or private.
Gun carry is a civil right, noone can prohibit entry to his private property ( for public use ) to a woman,or a black,or a homo,or a disabled,so the same should happen for gun carrying persons......

Let's create various licenses for various calibres of weapons, like the motor vehicles & pilots' licenses.

Let's try to lower the age for a CCW permit only for.22 cal pistols,to 16,so that high school students can carry at school...

These are the right fights we must win...
"Now,many criminal elements will get a CCW & start commiting crime". The criminal element already does this.

In my state it costs $90 to take a CCW class. Then it takes $90 more to apply with the sheriff's office. On top of that it cost $15 to get your medical records.

If the Constution says we have the right to "keep and bear arms", why do we have to "apply" for something that is supposed to be a right and have to pay for that right?

I agree with the rest of your post.

We pay for everything...

For our right to liberty for us & other opressed nations,we pay...800 bn/year...

We have to appeal to the non-gun & anti-gun people...

We have to persuade them that we are the salt of the Amer nation...

So,we have to pass some basic tests, some screening,something...

What can u say to the anti-gun politicians who will now scream...

"CA & NY are not going to be Arizona"..?

Not requiring a license has worked fine in Vermont. No one should have to pay to exercise a basic right.

I don't have "pay" for a permit to breathe, to vote, to speak, to cross state lines etc

Permits are not going to appeal to antis

When you go to buy a gun you show your driver's license. If you are not a criminal you should be able to buy that gun. Nothing else is needeed.

You mean scream louder than they have been for the past how many years.

"CA & NY are not going to be Arizona"..? Probably not
This to me is like abortion. How can you compramise? You are either for killing babies or you are not.

Every time you give in to the antis, they just come back and want more.
Look at the so called "assalt gun ban". It was laughable what some of those restrictions were.

There is al arge group of people that want to ban gun ownership entirely. Compromising with them is a death nail in the coffin of gun ownership.

Vermont's blue outside the NEK, nothing anti-gun, Iowa is blue and just got shall issue CC licenses so the direction there is towards more freedom...

The main problem states are CA, NY, MA, NJ, RI, MD, HI, IL and to some degree WI. The rest of our 50 states are moving towards more gun freedom not less, or aren't moving to restrict anything anyways.

being a citizen of wisconsin and even though we do not have CCW we do have open carry. the cops here cannot arrest us anymore for disturbing the peace just for having a firerarm on our hips in open carry. milwakee had to shell a chunk of cash to pay off someone for that screwup by some cops, and our state supreme court ruled that the cops screwed up.

open carry now is alot more open now, even if the cops do or dont like it.
