If private insurers are providing abortion coverage and the insured receives any kind of government subsidy to purchase said insurance, that constitutes the federal funding of abortion.

Federal funding of abortion is already banned.
We just have a few attention seeking Democrats creating controversy when there really isn't any.

If I had it my way, abortions would be covered by federal funds. I believe they are in Canada. On another website I'm a member of, a woman said she just has to have two doctors sign off on the abortion and the health care system pays for it.

And do you know what a revolving door that would create here in America ? Our morals are not of the highest standards and some sick people would view abortion a preferable route than the pill or condoms or other means.

The language specifically bans it. The language also specifically states that any abortion coverage would be elective and that coverage can't come from any public funds. So if someone were to choose a plan that covered abortions they must pay for that coverage out of their own pocket.

Personally, what they do in Canada is meaningless here, in the United States of America. We are not adopting Canada's healthcare system (where a person was just denied brain surgery to remove a tumor - they came tp the US for the life saving surgery).

FEDERAL tax dollars should not, and will not, be used to pay for abortions.

If a person wishes to have abortion benefits, let them pay for that add-on to their individual policies.

I'd also like to have funding for birth control pills, IUDs, vasectomies, etc. for those who want that.
I think it's better to focus on the prevention of an unplanned or unwanted pregnancy than debate all this time about abortion.
Abortions will always occur. It's just better to have them legal and make sure women have access to them.

The problem is abortion coverage is still attached to government subsidized insurance policies.

The funding itself is not. If someone wants abortion coverage the need to pay extra for that, and it must come from their own funds.

I'd like to see people take a little responsibility for their actions and or mistakes.
Cost of an Abortion - Get Information and Cost Guidelines - CostHelper.com
As we can see from this link the cost of an abortion is not a wallet buster.
Taking into consideration the cost of an average dinner followed by drinks. We are talking at least $100.00 or more.
The cost of what some spend on make up?
Cigarettes? Per month?
Or the fact that most places do accept VISA and MC.
So I would like to see people pay for their own indiscretions.
I am no fan of abortion nor to I wish to regulate a womans choice. Quite simply I don't feel that society should have to help pay for individule mistakes.
