I was just thinking how nice it is that you didn't dig any deeper than the top of your head. It may have really got serious if you had.

Because we don't want to be treated as chattel. This country was founded on freedom for the individual, not collectivism.

The most profoundly revolutionary achievement of the United States of America was the subordination of society to moral law.
The principle of man’s individual rights represented the extension of morality into the social system—as a limitation on the power of the state, as man’s protection against the brute force of the collective, as the subordination of might to right. The United States was the first moral society in history.

All previous systems had regarded man as a sacrificial means to the ends of others, and society as an end in itself. The United States regarded man as an end in himself, and society as a means to the peaceful, orderly, voluntary coexistence of individuals. All previous systems had held that man’s life belongs to society, that society can dispose of him in any way it pleases, and that any freedom he enjoys is his only by favor, by the permission of society, which may be revoked at any time. The United States held that man’s life is his by right (which means: by moral principle and by his nature), that a right is the property of an individual, that society as such has no rights, and that the only moral purpose of a government is the protection of individual rights.

Classical liberalism, sure...

Liberals today however are not classical liberalism, but a modern liberalism which has no relation to that of classical liberalism. So, your claim is false.

Modern Liberalism is very close to that of the many entry forms of communism.

For the same reason I am "afraid" of using blood letting and leaches to cure most medical conditions- it doesn't work.

* Dispose of far less garbage per capita than we do We know, it still sits in the streets

* Achieve greater socioeconomic equality (Not into COMMUNISM, but thanks anyway) without depriving citizens of their right to choose an occupation and receive just rewards for their efforts

* Spend more on basic scientific research that will lead them into the future of the global economy rather than blowing it all on a massive military Many have us as their defense militarily.

* Maintain neutrality with respect to the internal affairs of sovereign nations while the USA consistently meddles, conducts covert operations and invades them Meanwhile their Muslim populations grow as their countries die, but at least there is lots of Muslim violence.

Those are just off the top of my head. European Muslims would love to give you a trim below your neck.

Do all the people praising European socialism read the financial section and understand that Europe is in deep manure?

Oh but they blame all that on the bad banks.
Socialism had nothing to do with Europe's financial problems
