Maybe for while the situation should be reversed from what we've had much too long, it's America's time to lower its pants and for Israel to pucker its lips.
First of all, you are correct, as far as the American Pres should demand more integrity of any nation that wants us as an ally, however, since he is not (by any other country) he should treat Israel the same way that he is treating the other countries, meaning suck up to them. You know, like he's sucking up to Mexico and Iran, to name a few. Fair is fair.

Well I disagree about what "sucking up" is, but seriously? You're mad that he's not treating every country the exact same way you perceive? That's absurd. I guess Bush should have accused every country of having WMDs and deposed their governments.

Obviously NO president is gonna suck up or not suck up to every country and it's silly to expect that.

I'm not sure what the OP means by "refuses to support," since it looks like the annual allotment of military support and foreign aid is still being given to Israel.

Apparently if you are gracious to foreign leaders, you are sucking up to them. Which then evokes the clause in the constitution that you must treat all nations the same by sucking up to all of them.

Until recently, support of Israel was a military and strategic one. The only ally we had in that region was, and to be quite frank is, Israel. We hadn't invaded Iraq or Afghanistan. Therefore, we needed a base of operations in the Middle East, if/when it became necessary. Hence Israel. Just like Korea. We need a base of operations, close to China; hence Korea.

If you recall the raid on Libya, France would not even allow us to fly our bombers over their airspace. We had to fly all the way around, south of Spain, refuel in mid air, then bomb Libya. And that is from "France," the ally we saved in WWII.

Like it or not, we need a strong ally, such as Israel, in the portion of the world. This world is still not, nor will it ever be, stable. Our interests MUST come first...

Absolutely. North Korea is a greater risk. If anything happens, we're instantly at war by default because we're actually THERE at the DMZ..

Do you even realize what "our interests" means? I doubt many people do. "our interests" are protecting american business investments.

If the United States had not been screwing up the middle east with policy and support of Israel for over a half a century, "our interests" wouldn't even need protecting.

I am selfish...That carrier has my boyfriend and another friend on it. I dont want it anywhere in conflict. If any of you hear Pacific Fleet in the news, say a prayer to whomever you wish, or just send luck.

Thats my world on that ship that people talk about sending so casually, just as its some other woman's world that might be sent if we "supported" Israel any more than we have.
