Wow 50-60k, I am not that much of a pool person to begin with to justify 60k. I like the look of those pools that seem to drop off to nothing, with a lower edge pool to catch the water.
I may just have to settle for a pond for fish and a fountain. Now I wonder how much native wildlife I will attract. I cannot even think of a Hot tub, today the heat index in New Orleans is 110 and with the South Florida weather how about a cold tub. I have to get up on my terms.Maybe a small tube is a spa? dunno. Moving water is nice, and a lanai in mandatory for me. So many houses on the market have no lanai and not screened porches. I enjoy natural beauty and fresh air. My idea of the perfect house is one that has screened porches around three sides and for appearance sake the front would not be screened but would have a porch. The idea behind the porches is to keep the sun off the walls of the hose as much as possible, Small bedrooms are ok, large living areas though and porches. I guess that is why I am having difficulty finding a house- in my price range that it. I am sure that they are there but probably out of reach for everyman.

Adding options like screens, salt systems, heaters, automation really spirals the mark up as well!
I knew that......just not the part about doing it after we close on the house...I was looking to do everything together...with the pool being installed by a separate contractor...while the house was being built...either way...a real pain in the ARS...
