I am looking to retire to Vero Beach some time in the next few years. I am looking for a one level single family home, with 3 bedrooms and a pool. I would prefer no HOA which for some reason I know is difficult in Florida. I am just looking for a nice quiet neighborhood in a good area 15-20 minutes from the beach. I am fairly familiar with the area as I have been visiting Vero since the late 1970's and had a small condo on the barrier island. I see that there have been several new developments in the area. My price limit is $350,000. I'd like to start looking now and try to narrow my choices. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Are you looking for new construction or an existing home? I had the same intentions back when I retired. After looking all over Vero I finally bought in Sebastian. No HOA is the way to go if you find the right neighborhood.

I am open to either new construction or an existing home. I just want to be in a decent, quiet neighborhood. Where are some good areas in Sebastian?

Most of Sebastian is nice. There's a wide variety of housing in all price points. you really have to look around and get an idea for yourself. As an example in your price range, I'd suggest Collier Creek Estates. Nice sized lots.

Collier Creek looks like nice. Is that development in a flood zone?

I doubt in a few years that you will be able to buy in there for under $425000

Most of it isn't. Some of the lots along the east side of Easy Street are in zone A.

One bit of advice before you move here come and stay here and see if you like it, it is very quiet & laid-back and not very convenient to airports or great medical care at this point. Hopefully when Cleven clinic takes over it will get better !
