It was suppose to be biotech. That's how OHSU conviced the city to pay for the Tram. But that new building is still just doctor's offices for OHSU docs. The other buildings are condos. No biotech yet. Only a world class Tram connecting docs to their condos and work.

LOL!!! And the Pacific NW scares people in The South because it's infested with heathen pinko commie liberals who get their kicks from setting fire to Car Dealerships with the ELF.

Please note: my post is loaded w/ sarcasm. And only meant to point out that the above post is a ridiculous description of The South. It's not always easy to determine how folks meant things that they typed. So maybe Techtom will let us know if his post was loaded w/ sarcasm too.

there's a new hummer dealership on my way to work. sometimes i wish i was an ELF ;-)
anyways, the south scaring me was sort of a sarcastic remark. basically i don't care for a lot of what's valued in much of the stereotypical south, and i do care about things that aren't valued that much. just saying it might not be my ideal wing of the country to move to, but as you said, it's different from area to area, which is why i'm considering raleigh, for instance. i also considered austin.

There are some clinics in the new building, too. I know someone who is getting chemo there. But, in general, it doesn't seem to be the major biotech center it set out to be. I hope the South Waterfront area doesn't fail, but so far the only housing being built is upscale, and there's nothing to do down there yet. It just doesn't seem to be taking off, but time will tell.
