That would be called having a police officer working at each school.

Not gonna happen. The taxpayers are barely funding schools now.

Then don't expect any armed people in the schools

People with the attitude that you can only stop gun violence with gun violence aren't really interested in stopping gun violence, only escalating it.

I have been out most of the day and am trying to get caught up. Where did you get the love rejection info?

Arm Principals and Teachers. 85% of whom are card carrying Liberal Pacifists. Make it a job requirement. "If you won't reach, you ain't gonna teach, Teach". When one of the 15% flighty, Conservative, closet Rambo educators make a bad call and shoot a student who deliberately drew fire by acting provocatively or even displaying a fake weapon for whatever reason a troubled teen might act in a deliberately provocative manner, crucify them. In the media, in the court of public opinion, in criminal court, in civil court. Take them down to bedrock, and throw what is left in a State Prison for the remainder of their sorry life. This so Steve can believe that a one off event will never happen again and our precious children will be safe. On occasion, Steve, you have insightful reactions to the experiences of others. When you bring original insights to this forum, however, they are always reactionary and wrong. You should stop. Just saying.

It's not the "Conservative, closet Rambo educators making a bad call" that I am worried about.

When you arm the "Principals and Teachers, 85% of whom are card carrying Liberal Pacifists", and expect them to make that split second decision, under stress and duress, to do something that is totally against their non-violent nature, to kill or shoot someone, is where the whole plan falls apart.

Teachers aren't soldiers or policemen. They are teachers of children.
Totally different mindset, education, training, philosophy, and outlook on life.

Sorry. It ain't gonna happen, Steve.

What's to stop the teachers from opening fire on the little snots in the classroom?

Oh, that incident would be acceptable collateral damage to those who want to arm everybody in the name of the Second Amendment.

Remember the wise words of gun-nut darling Joe the Plumber: "your dead kids don’t trump my Constitutional rights."

A real gadfly, Joe is!

Wait a minute.

I believe very strongly in my second amendment rights.
I am not a conservative.
I am not a liberal.
Not everybody that believes in their right to keep and bear arms is some fringe wacko.

DON"T generalize.

But.......I believe that arming teachers is the absolutely wrong way to go.

We should be protecting our kids and teachers.
Not making them protect themselves.
