I still like Portland but Seattle is still better in virtually every way if one was looking for the quintessential Pacific Northwest experience.

I guess I am an Moderator cut: snip as you say because I'd rather not deal with those unsavory elements.. who really wants to in the end? I prefer cities and towns with a zero or near zero homeless rate if possible. They'll multiply like rats if you let them and Porkland has done a good job doing that.

So much truth to this, I so wish I would have found this site to warn me of Portland before I moved here, it has been such a let down and truly such a cesspool of a city.

That wouldn't shock me, anything they can do to cover up the stench of this city. Nothing like seeing garbage everywhere and drug addicts passed out on the streets.

I know for a fact the people in the mayors office read city-data and sometimes post here for whatever reasons.

There have been too many coincidences.
The latest example is a huge thread on the homeless problem gets started, then all of a sudden boom! the mayor announces a huge expensive plan to fix things.

All in one week or so.

Coincidence? Maybe.
But I'm cynical enough to think not.

Makes you wonder which members work for the city to promoting this city because this place is just a mess.

It's probably neither coincidence nor conspiracy, but rather a problem that's grown so big that it's hard to avoid talking about.
