A lot of condos were built in a hurry. If you are considering buying one be sure to review HOA documents going back as many of years that are available, drill down on the reserves and reserve study, and hire the inspector from hell.

I always thought it was a cool little area personally, I liked to walk around there and ate at a few restaurants. I always felt like suburbs in more cities could use more self-contained areas, even if they’re not totally walkable they could use more “you can stay in this neighborhood and find what you need” zones. Sometimes I feel like where I am in Beaverton - for 36 more hours - is a mixture of driving very busy, large roads to get everything even though I don’t ever have to leave Beaverton. It’s still big. Orenco has a certain cool feel to it, though I actually think downtown Beaverton is way cooler than it gets credit for. Don’t get me wrong if I thought it was actually cool, I wouldn’t be leaving the state (lol), but it is making progress as a more interesting area with more going on.

It’s interesting to hear about someone hating Orenco haha but yeah living somewhere is different than visiting.
