I've never been to Portland, though I'm interested in doing so. Lately I've been using Google street view to "tour" through various places, so with Portland, what streets would be good ones to get a good feel for the downtown? Other areas of interest? Neighborhoods? I usually just use Google Maps to drop down into a place randomly and start "driving" around, but it would be nice to know some good starting points. Thanks!

For downtown, try SW Broadway . Also Naito Parkway for a look at the downtown riverfront. SW 10th would also be good for downtown. For around town, try SW Macadam, SE Hawthorne, SE Sellwood, SW Terwilleger, Capitol Highway, West Burnside, NE 39th and NW Broadway . Those should give you a good overview of close in Portland. Just thought of a couple more that might be fun. Drive over a bridge! Beautiful panoramic views of Portland. Marquam Bridge, Fremont Bridge , Burnside, Broadway, Steel, Ross Island and Sellwood Bridges would all be great. Especially the first two.
