What are your experiences with medical care in the Quad Cities?

Hi. There are two hospitals - one is in Prescott and the other is in Prescott Valley. They are actually the same hospital with two different "campuses." We have had good experiences with the campus in PV. We have never received medical care at the one in Prescott. We not not have a Level I trauma center, so, those patients are often air evacuated to Phoenix or Flagstaff.

Pretty much everything else is here. We have had great luck with primary care physicians, although, we often have to go into Prescott. Which is fine, it is only about 20-30 minutes depending on where you are in Prescott Valley. In general, we have specialists as well.

There are also a lot of mental health services as it is a desirable location for a lot of providers and facilities.

Let me know if you have other questions. We have been here since 2001 and have never really had issues getting any care that we need.

How would describe the "vibe" of the area? Would you consider it a foodie town? What is the best thing about living there? If you could change one thing, what would it be?

Do either of you have a chronic illness?

Mikayla -

I think the coolest part about Prescott is that there are several "vibes." People from all walks of life with varied interests. From nature lovers to ranch owners.

Not really a "foodie" town, but there are a lot of great restaurants. Some of my faves are Mama's Pizzeria downtown and Lefty's in Dewey.

I love the 4 seasons. I love that in the winter we see snow but it generally does not stick around for long. Just enough, usually, to get my fill of it. My family is originally from Michigan and I have spent a lot of time there and I do not want that kind of winter...ever. And...it is beautiful. Most epic sunsets ever.

Not sure that I would change anything. Everything comes with time and as it continues to grow, we continue to get more of the things I want or miss. Phoenix and Flagstaff are close enough to fill in the gaps though - like the airport.

Yep. Husband is diabetic and has had issues related to cholesterol/high blood pressure/etc. So...lots of docs and a few surgeries and a "fun" hospitalization.

Do you think Prescott Valley will attract more millenials and younger people in the area?

If you had $650k to $700k to spend on a non-HOA house in Prescott, what area would you choose?

(Thanks for volunteering to answer questions... I probably have a ton of 'em.)

Are ppl generally interested in talking to newbies & possibly open to friendships? The area that we relocated go is very cliqueish, many longtime locals who have their set of friends/families, & if you are a non-church-attending transplant, it's quite lonely.

I like Prescott, but would not want to move & once again be in involuntary social isolation.
