Though I don't normally follow INJURY stats, it seems that there are a LOT more injuries this year. If true, is this due to the lockout?

I think it is due to the lockout, just my thought. I also think high passing yards is going to settle down even though the NFL is becoming more QB driven. Defenses (not just the Pack) don't seem to be up to par yet. The lack of added practice time, time with team trainers really matters. I know guys work out on their own but it does not equal what they would get at their own facility.
Both Mike and Susancruzs are right here. I don't care what the players say, you're not going to get into tip top shape otherwise. A good case in point is the Bronco/Bengal game I went to Sunday. 1st quarter, early in the game, situation was 3rd and 11. I had the glasses on wide receiver Eddie Royal as Orton let one fly. Royal ran 5 steps and dropped like a stone. Pulled groin is the result, I've read online this morning they might do an MRI on it.
Suprised that the Browns lost to the Bengals. Then again we've only won one home opener since our return in 1999, so maybe not so much.
Suprised about the way the Ravens just totally dismantled the Steelers. I had the Ravens winning at home, but thought that the game between those two would have been much closer. As they usually are.
Suprised about Buffalo destroying the Chiefs in KC! WTF did the Bills come from?
