There is usually a risk/reward with punt returners.. you might leave a guy in there if he can break one or two even if he has a whoops moment. So how many TDs returns does Bersin have?
ah.. none.. It doesn't appear he was used as a returner last year and only the second half of this year so is he in there due to injury to another player?
I think he is filling in for Philly Brown.
Bersin wouldn't make it off the practice squad on most teams.
He fumbled the firdt punt and muffed the second one. I will be shocked if he catches the ball cleanly this Saturday. Heck, I'm shocked every time he catches the ball.
That does hurt the defense somewhat, but IMO, the biggest concern for the Panthers IMO will be when they are on offense, and how productive they can be going against all the elements facing them (ie Seattle's D and the 12th man).
If they have any shot at keeping it close in the 4th quarter, they are going to have to churn out long sustaining drives to keep the crowd noise down and Russell Wilson off the field...not rocket science, but if they don't excute and have alot of 3 and outs, it'll get ugly quick.
They just need to be close in the 4th quarter, then anything can happen....

Indeed...but I think Star's injury could hurt the run defense.
Stephen Hill is traveling with the team, and could be active if Brown can't play this weekend.
The Panthers need a speed/deep threat and Philly Brown was the guy to stretch the field. He IMO will be a gametime decision. If he can't go, you might get Stephen Hill to fill in that role...
Every once in a while, a 'no name' will come up big and make a clutch play.
Remember last year week 16 w/Domenic Hixon made that game winning TD vs NO when Steve Smith was injured?
