It used to be that getting a tattoo made one unique.

I never got one; now I'm unique.

If I want to make a statement, then I'll just say something.

I only pay attention to tattoos when the wearer points them out to me.

So, no.

Unless that dolphin with the rose in its teeth REALLY stands out to me......

It's a weird thing, my friend.

Some folks get tied in knots about tribal art but don't say a word about the 20 yr. Navy Vet with an anchor on his arm.

We were clearly ribbing each other, and I don't see any personal attacks in my post - at least nothing worse than calling us (tattooed women) easy or stupid. But you don't get how insulting that is?

I'm not actually upset, though, as I know better than to take comments like that too seriously. But as I said to the other poster, how do you know the women rejecting you didn't have tattoos as well? Unless you asked every woman at the bar if they had ink before hitting on them, your opinion is nothing more than a weak anecdote... kind of like saying blondes are easiest to get, simply because you've gotten a few blondes. What about all the blondes you did NOT get into bed? Hmmm.

Can't tell if you're just being funny, but for the record: Tattoos have never kept me from getting a job, I'm certainly not living in solitude, and doubt they'd invite a Jew (me) into any supremacist clubs.

But yes, they do sometimes lead to interesting conversations with strangers! I'm always happy to share their stories, too, as long as you're not rude about it when asking.

Nope, never noticed that. I have three tattoos on my ankles, and don't even OWN a pair of shorts!! Too cold in San Francisco, where I lived up until a few years ago... and with my body type, they just make me look chicken-legged anyway. So I'm strictly a long pants/jeans kind of gal, and don't even wear skirts or dresses unless I'm going to a wedding or something. Thinking of the other people I know with leg/calf tattoos, they don't wear shorts very often either. The only folks you see in shorts (at least during the winter/fall) around here are tourists, or maybe tennis players in the expensive neighborhoods.

Again, you need to stop throwing out these silly generalizations and passing them off as facts. I'll apply the same logic as I did to your other comment - how do you know the long-panted folks you pass on the streets don't have tattoos underneath? You don't, so this is just as stupid of a stereotype as assuming they represent sexual looseness.

I personally dislike Tattoos but I don't consider that a valid way to evaluate the competency, morality or intelligence of a person who has one or more.

I lost my ability to read minds, I do not have the ability to know why a person decides to have a tattoo. I do not have the ability to judge why anyone has a tattoo and it really is none of my business.
