I guess it was both. I know alcoholics that are narcissistic and get violently upset when they don't get their way. He obviously didn't care about others. And it is a instant gratification society. So when he didn't get his it set him off. Alot of variables here although most don't express their frustration with mass murder.

I believe one if the characteristics of psychopathology is lack of fear. Rodger had fear and paralyzing panic attacks, especially during childhood. I really don’t know if anyone can accurately diagnose him now.
