Healthy people believe they will never die, so that’s it.

You know what was meant.... death at an earlier age than normal.

I believe expectation is the leading cause of unhappiness. Did you ever observe a kid started crying and rolling on the floor because they are not getting what they wanted?

It would certainly, most assuredly be 'my' ego inside me ...

-creating thoughts, that are not mine, to feel sad about most everything and anything...and
I would fight it...I've had plenty of practice so I would overcome it.
Can't get into other stuff cuz I have to respect that this is the Psych section....regarding
faith and hope...shhhh.

No, you wouldn't necessarily over come it at all - there are lots of cancers with very low survival rates.

Thinking you would seems more like ego to me.

Don't get me wrong, I think a positive attitude is always better than the alternatives, but so is reality.

I can't bring up spiritual stuff here...you don't know me and what exactly I have overcome...!
Lotsa practice...your reality is different than my reality....replace reality with the word 'perspective, if that helps to understand what I'm saying.
Ego?
Oh my...it takes years of humility to get to this point!...Confidence, faith, belief, conquering tons of obstacles is often misunderstood as ego or even arrogance by some.

Survival rates? I welcome leaving this place...oh, to go Home. So you see my perspective is a bit different...it would, indeed,
be the enemy (ego) trying to bring me down.
I would go gently into that goodnight!

It takes a lot of mind power to get past the meds and pain...I know all about it!!!
Oh, the stories of pain unimaginable.

So I stick by my op...ego is the source of unhappiness...distraction, doubts, worry, fear, jealousy, indignation, laziness, pride, pessimism,
control issues, negativity, bitterness, guilt and pride..and attachment..the works!

Added...And again thank you all.

Expectation is not exactly the culprit.... it is actually unfulfilled expectations.
Buddhists give desire a bad rap, also, for the same reason...desire is what makes the world go round...it is unfulfilled desire that causes suffering.

I’m pretty sure the world would go round just fine without desire.
