Well, Im a contract worker for the original compnay who invented it, and have tons of it here. When they decide to scrap some, we roll it out and run over it with the forklifts. The bigger bubbles do better than the small ones!
Why waste perfectly good bubble wrap? I use it for shipping, as well as storing breakables. Once the bubbles pop, all you have left are plastic sheets that cannot be added to your curbside recycling bin. How many of you bubble poppers go to the trouble of bringing them to a plastic film recycling drop-off point?

What a waste! We could have been popping it, not your forklift!
Oh yeah! Forgot about that. We had those air-bladder seaweed types in SoCal but I haven't seen that here. The added bonus of seawater squirting out on you, too!
Although we do have seasonal "blue-bottle" jellyfish that wash up on shore and pop under your feet. It's always an alarming surprise, since we're not expecting it.
It doesn't do anything to me either way (like I don't enjoy it in particular but it doesn't bother me if someone else does it). And I am a fidgeter; I have a ton of nervous energy that people mistake for them startling me. I love picking scabs. That feels satisfying to me. To each their own I suppose.
Eeeww, scabs! I have about 6 right now from a dermatology treatment and they are driving me NUTS!!!!! Itchy and so tempting. It takes all my willpower to keep from peeling them off. Why is that so fun....
I've always loved to pop bubble wrap. For some reason, it is so satisfying. Occasionally I've bought a whole roll just to pop. But I have to wait until DH is out of range since it drives him crazy. I guess it would be annoying to the person listening and not participating.
I was reading an article on ASRM and it made me think of bubble-popping. But it doesn't seem like the same thing.
This article explains it, suggesting it alleviates fidgeting. But I'm not a fidgeter. I just like to pop!

Ewwww....cancel my previous post about needing a roommate. I'm just gonna stay homeless.

A plastic film recycler? HA! We should be so lucky! I'd have to get on a jet to reach one. How's that for conserving petroleum products?
Ridicule aside, I do recycle as much bubble wrap as possible. A little family joke is marking dates on the bubble wrap we use to wrap and send gifts to each other. Just to see how many times its made the trip!
