There ya go. Knew there had to be a good bit of wordage to quote from JLS. I love that book from the bottom of my heart.

When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time.

To think of feelings as objects. Hurt, anger, envy, regret, fear - all those feelings caused due to human relationships and other things that cause anxiety, sadness etc can be thought of as physical obstruction, lodged in some part of your body. Mentally locate them in your body by examining each part from head to toe. And you will find it, lodged in your stomach, lungs, your ankle, your big toe. Then relax, breath deeply, consciously, and melt it away. It works.
I think it works because firstly it is true, these feeling do affect us physically. Affects the ease of breathing, causing knots in the stomach, on our nerves, etc. By focusing thought on something other than the interaction that keeps playing in your mind, you release yourself from its weight, setting it apart as not you. That releases the tension and relaxes you. You can deal with it more objectives. Deep breathing also provides oxygen and is relaxing.

"Life is not a dress rehearsal"

"Low risk, low return, high risk, high return"

These have both helped me a lot, in making decisions and in deciding what not to get upset about

The best I ever received was a sermon called PBPWMGIFWMY.

“Please be patient with me; God isn’t finished with me yet.”

It was about how we’re all far from perfect but we can be improved.

The sermon said that God improves us, but the same point is applicable even outside of a church context. For most of my life, my mother told me, focusing on every single thing I ever did wrong, that every other person in the world was perfect and that I alone was imperfect. It was a huge relief to learn that that’s not true; we all have flaws, but there is hope for all of us.
