Hello all, I had fireside homes lined up to add a lanai in my northport home.....but they are too busy and won't be able to do the job, so I need to find a good reliable builder to help me with my project. Can anyone here recommend someone for the job? thanks, Jeff

I'm sure you'll get responses. In the auto world, you want a shop that can't take you in for 2 weeks. The one's that can take you right away usually aren't that good. Lanai builders? Can't help there but please, don't be in too much of a hurry. Others will chime in. Best of luck regardless. There was a thread about a pool builder docummentated very well in this forum. Personally if I were getting a pool, I'd wait till they could do it.

Let us know the pros and cons of what you can for others.

My customers have used Absolute Aluminum and Scott's Screens. I would get estimates from a couple of different companies.

Absolute Aluminum - Outdoor Kitchens, Screen Enclosures, Sunrooms - ABSOLUTE ALUMINUM Sarasota Venice

Scott's Screens - * Welcome to Scott's Screens, providing screen services in Port Charlotte, FL.

Punta Gorda Aluminum - http://screenenclosuresandcarports.com/

All About Aluminum and Screen - http://www.wescreenflorida.com/

Another suggestion is to try some pool companies, they contract for screen enclosures too.

Fulton Pools - http://fultonpools.com/

Definitely go with an aluminum specialty shop as listed above (absolute aluminum is popular) and negotiate the price. If you go with a home builder or a pool builder, all they do is contract the work out to the aluminum shop. Eliminate the middle man and go direct yourself. You'll save money and time.
