Was going to say can anyone recommend an endocrinologist in the area? Or a good primary care physician who has the expertise to treat diabetes and thyroid problems (rather than needing to refer to a specialist)?

Thanks!

I sent you a DM of my doctor. I really like my general physician. He is very thorough and takes time to listen and chat about your concerns. I even called him on his cell phone one time when I was having real bad chest pains. He asked questions and told me what to do. It is nice to know you can rely on someone. Good luck in finding a doctor that is the right fit for you.

Hi, I know this post was a few years ago, but I'm new to the area and need a doc that works with thyroid and Hashimoto's. It sounds like you like your doc. Would you mind messaging me with their info if you still feel that way about your doc? Good ones are so hard to come by.

Thanks!

After my endocrinologist of 8 years retired last year i was beside myself with worry...she was an excellent doctor and always available to me no matter what time of day or night...i have type 2 diabetes and thyroid issues...I tried a couple local doctors, one was a endocrinologist but wasn't impressed with either of them...then i made an appointment with Millennium Physicians Group...I see Dr Murphy...he's very nice, takes the time to listen to me and has helped get my blood sugars under control again...they have an excellent diabetes education department too

My general practitioner is Dr. Eric Reintsema in North Port, FL. I have used him since moving to Florida in 2004.
